Ministry of Labor to Implement Social Security Scheme of Occupational Risk to Civil Servants for Higher Labor Productivity
(Phnom Penh): The Ministry of Labor will soon implement the Social Security Scheme on Occupational Risk for Civil Servants in order to promote the social welfare.
Speaking at the opening of the conference on achievements of year 2019 and set direction for 2020 of the National Social Security Fund on January 14, 2020, Ouk Samvichea, Delegate of Royal Government in charge as Director of National Social Security Fund, said that the implementation of the Social Security Scheme on Occupational Risk for Civil Servants will encourage all government officials in the ministries to be hard working and help to make high labor productivity that improves the economy of the country.
He added that the implementation of the Social Security Scheme on Occupational Risk for Civil Servants is slightly different from public workers where National Social Security Fund does not give the public servant daily payment at the time of work-related accident and for hospitalized as a regular employee. Besides, there is the same benefits as the workers including free treatment.
Presiding over the meeting, Ith Samheng, Minister of Labor, said that the social security risk for the civil servants is very important to make a significant contribution to reducing treatment expenses of individuals. There could be unexpected incidents when traveling to work, if this really happens, government is helping to pay all medical services for the patients or victims.
It should be noted that according to the Ministry of Labor, the implementation of the Social Security Scheme on Occupational Risk for Civil Servants is the Government paying contributions to the officials in case of accidents.
