Air Baltic Shows Off A220-300 in Cambodia
(Phnom Penh): Cambodia’s civil aviation sector has grown remarkably. The sector contributes significantly to the development of Cambodia, especially in the sectors of transport and tourism. A number of major airlines have subsequently invested in the Cambodian market.
On 7 November, Airbus A220 launched in the Cambodian market at the Phnom Penh International Airport. The Air Baltic A220-300 is on display for domestic and international guest service.
Connor Buott, Senior Product Marketing Analyst for Airbus, said there are currently 27 airlines operating Airbus A320 in Cambodia. By the end of September 2019, customers from all over the world had ordered 525 aircrafts of A220s, 90 of which were already in operation with seven operators.
He added that the A220 features state-of-the-art aerodynamics and the latest generation of engines. These engines and technologies save at least 20 percent more fuel compared to previous-generation aircraft of similar size.
With non-stop flight capability up to 3,400 miles or (6,300 km), the aircraft is capable of connecting Cambodia to North Asia and the Middle East.
