Foreign Minister Holds Talks with EU Ambassador on EBA Issues and Development Cooperation

(Phnom Penh): Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Prak Sokhonn met with newly-appointed Ambassador of the European Union Carmen Moreno.

Koy Kuong, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that the EU Ambassador had told the Deputy Prime Minister that she would continue to strengthen the partnership with Cambodia and what the EU has and she praised Cambodia for its strong economic and economic development.

The European Union continues to be a development partner in Cambodia. The European Union’s development assistance to Cambodia has previously amounted to around $ 700 million and an estimate $ 20 million to the Khmer Rouge Tribunal.

The Ambassador of the European Union pledges to continue to encourage more European businessmen and investors to invest in Cambodia, and continue to cooperate in the economy, trade, tourism and other sectors.

Koy Kuong said that for both sides discussed the EBA and she was ready to cooperate with Cambodia on EBA issues since the European Commission has cooperated with the Royal Government of Cambodia to discuss the issue of EBA case any decision will be forthcoming.
