Austrian Gov’t Intends to Provide Loan to Help Improve Health and Wastewater Treatment in Cambodia
(Bulgaria): Along with the official visit of Cambodia’s Prime Minister Hun Sen to Bulgaria, the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce visited Austria to strengthen trade ties between the two countries.
Oknha Nguon Meng Tech, Secretary-General of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, led Cambodian businessmen together to discuss business with Clemens Machal, Regional Manager Asia/Pacific.
Machal said the Austrian government intends to provide 20 to 30-year interest-free loan to Cambodia to help improve the health and wastewater treatment in urban and rural areas which needs support from the private sector and the government, especially from the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of the Environment, the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
Prime Minister Hun Sen’s official visits other countries always offer opportunities to the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce and the private sector to collaborate, grow business-to-business relationships and attract foreign investors to contribute to the development of the country.
It is worth noting that the trade volume between Austria and Cambodia in 2018 was $ 239 million, with Austria exporting textile and agricultural products such as rice and rubber while Cambodia imported from Austria with agricultural machinery.
