New Minimum Wage for 2020 Set at $190
(Phnom Penh): The result which was released after the final negotiation this morning shows the three parties agreed to “$190” minimum wage for 2020 for garment and footwear workers.
The minimum wage figures for garment workers by 2020 were met through a tripartite meeting organized by the National Council for Minimum Wage which was chaired by Dr. Ith Sam Heng, Minister of Labor and Vocational Training, in the morning of September 20, 2019.
It is worth mentioning that the minimum wage for workers this year stands at $182 per month, excluding other benefits. The new agreed minimum wage will be implemented for all workers on January 1, 2020.
