Minister of Commerce: Japan Can Benefit from Production of Bicycle Parts in Cambodia
(Phnom Penh): Cambodia introduced manufacturing industry, in particular the production of bicycle part, to the Japanese counterparts to invest in as Japan can reap huge benefits from this investment. Minister of Commerce Pak Sorasak claimed that Cambodia is the second largest exporter of bicycles to the European markets.
During the meeting with Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia Hidehisa Horinouchi, the Minister of Commerce informed the ambassador the reform and trade facilitation measures introduced by the Royal Government of Cambodia as well as the business opportunities offered to Japanese investors.
“Cambodia is the second largest exporter of bicycles to the European markets, but some equipment and components need to be imported from other countries in the region, so if there is a bike manufacturer like Shimano in Cambodia, it would be wonderful,” the minister said.
