Construction of Phnom Penh-Preah Sihanouk Expressway to Kick Off on March 22
(Phnom Penh): According to the Ministry of Public Works and Transport’s announcement, the construction of expressway connecting Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville will officially start on March 22, 2019.
The road connecting Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville has a total distance of 190 km along the National Road No. 4, with four lanes, two for the left side and two for the right side, said the statement. The construction plan needs approximately four years to complete.
The new highway will be constructed of concrete, rubber and bricks, with a width of up to 24 meters, with parks in the middle of the road, and with bars on both sides to protect animals or pedestrians as well as to reduce traffic congestion.
