Council of Ministers Issues A Statement to Ban the Export of Human Breast Milk to America
(Phnom Penh): The Council of Ministers issued a statement on March 28 to ban the export of human breast milk from Cambodia to America by Ambrosia Labs Co., Ltd upon the request of the Ministry of Health on March 24.
According to the statement released by the Council of Ministers which Swift News obtained on March 28, the government does not allow the export of human breast milk from Cambodia to America.
“First, it can prevent (customers) from buying fresh milk and export human breast milk from Cambodia. Second, even though Cambodia is poor country, but it would not sell human breast milk,” the statement said.
Health Minister Mam Bunheng did not pick up his phone. However, Health Ministry’s spokesman Ly Sovann told Swift News that “Health Ministry never allows the export of human breast milk for a long time ago until now because it involves with our human organism.”
Mr Sovann declined to comment when the reporter asked him about Ambrosia Labs Company, why the Ministry allowed this company to open in the first place, and whether or not the company is legal.
