(Phnom Penh): President of Cambodian Youth Party (CYP) Pich Sros announced that he would cut gas prices to 2,800 riel per liter if his party is elected. The announcement was made after gas prices have gone up.
CYP’s President Pich Sros confirmed the Cambodian Youth Party will set gasoline prices at 2800 riel per liter after winning some National Assembly seats, adding that he would work hard to improve living conditions of the people.
“Gasoline prices, compared to commodity prices, are fast to rise but slow to fall,” he said. “It can be assumed that the government pays less attention to producers but more to middlemen who offer benefits to some officials and have power to both rise or lower product prices.”
Cambodian Youth Party has been approved by the National Election Committee and it will contest the election, scheduled to take place on 29 July 2018.
