(Phnom Penh): Prime Minister Hun Sen received a courtesy call on by new Turkish ambassador to Cambodia Ayda Unlu, at Peace Palace, in the morning of May 17, 2018.
The new Turkish ambassador, at the meeting, conveyed regards from Turkish President and Prime Minister to Prime Minister Hun Sen and his spouse.
She pledged to make every effort to promote diplomatic relations between the two countries, promising to bring more Turkish investors to invest in Cambodia as the investment, trade and economic sectors are still limited for both.
Turkey is now considering to launch regular direct flights between Turkey and Cambodia to boost the tourism sector of both, she said.
Prime Minister Hun Sen, on the occasion, welcomed and expressed his congratulation toward the new Turkish ambassador on her appointment, affirming his commitment to further promoting cooperation between the two countries.
The Premier said that direct flights between Turkey and Cambodia would cement closer ties in the area of economy, trade, investment and tourism. In this morning’s discussion, Prime Minister Hun Sen also revealed a plan to set up Cambodian embassy in Turkey.
