(Phnom Penh): Prime Minister Hun Sen called on all citizens to pay attention to the local media and relevant institutions for information related to floods as weather forecasters predict high risk of flooding this year.
“I would like to appeal to all citizens in the country, especially to those who live along rivers, to be more precautious as there is a high possibility of flooding,” Prime Minister Hun Sen said.
“According to the weather forecast, this year’s water level is predicted to rise. All relevant authorities including National Committee for Disaster Management and Cambodian Red Cross should be ready and prepared to rescue the vulnerable as well as the victims and deal with any disaster,” he added.
The Premier addressed at the 155th anniversary of the World Red Cross Red Crescent Day, May 8, 2018, this morning, at the CRC National Headquarters, with participation of around 4000 people.
The celebration of World Red Cross Red Crescent Day anniversary is an important event for Cambodian Red Cross to promote the humanitarian value and raise funds to help vulnerable people including victims of disasters and other risks without discrimination of race, religious beliefs, political tendencies and leaving no one behind.
