(Phnom Penh): The Royal Plowing Ceremony, this year, was held under the highest honor of His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni, in Svay Rieng province, in the morning of 3 May 2018.
The Royal oxen ate 95 percent of rice, 90 percent of corn, and 80 percent of beans. The plantation of rice, corn, and beans is predicted to result in increased yields this year.
The Royal Plowing Ceremony is regarded as one of the most significant traditional ceremonies in Cambodia. The ceremony is commemorated to give blessings to the farming sector as well as to pray for a bountiful harvest season.
