(Phnom Penh): Prime Minister Hun Sen met with Yoshihisa Kainuma, chairman of Minebea, at the company’s facility, located in Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone, on May 1, 2018.
The chairman, at the meeting, mentioned about his company’s contribution to the development of Cambodia, especially to enhancing livelihood of the Cambodians.
Minebea has invested roughly around US$ 170 million in total in Cambodia, including transportation costs.
The chairman expressed his extreme pleasure after Prime Minister Hun Sen lowered electricity cost, enabling the company to compete and making Phnom Penh a “Smart City”.
He also invited the Prime Minister to visit and support the Koh Pich project, which has been implementing with the aim to reduce the cost of electricity by 90%.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Hun Sen stated that he highly evaluated the company and that he would like to see presence of more companies like Minebea in Cambodia.
Before the meeting was concluded, the Premier thanked the chairman of Minebea for celebrating the International Labor Day and he wished the chairman good health and success.
