20 Passengers of Westerdam Tested Negative for Coronavirus: Ministry of Health
(Phnom Penh): The Ministry of Heath on late Thursday night, February 13, 2020, issued a press release to announce that the 20 passengers on Westerdam cruise ship who have shown minor health issues were tested negative for coronavirus.
The press release reads the team of medical experts boarded Westerdam, owned by Holland America Line, with 1,455 passengers and 802 crew members, on zero point away from the shore in Sihanoukville and found that 20 passengers have minor health issues but no coronvirus (COVID-19) symptoms.
The 20 passengers are 7 Americans, 4 Indonesians, 3 Filipinos, 2 Hollanders, 2 Canadians, 1 Belgian and 1 English aged between 22-77 years old.
The medical personnel on board took specimens from suspected passengers. 16 specimens were airlifted to Pastuer Institute in Phnom Penh and other 4 were sent later for diagnosis. The results show that they have no coronavirus.
