Interior Minister: Gov’t Focuses on Enhancing Quality of Life for People with Disabilities
(Phnom Penh): Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, presided over the congress to conclude the National Disability Strategic Plan 2014-2018 and to launch the new strategic plan for 2019-2023 on December 3, 2019.
On behalf of Prime Minister Hun Sen, Sar Kheng said that he was very pleased to be at today’s event and irritated the Royal Government’s commitment to protecting rights of the persons with disabilities and eliminating discrimination against them.
The Royal Government always pays close attention to people with disabilities through state support in national social protection policies, and some from private support from both inside and outside the country through humanitarian assistance, he said.
In particular, the Royal Government has spent a lot of state budget on the promotion of people with disabilities and their families to have better quality of life, to be free from discrimination, to access to quality social services and public services, to encourage their participation in all social activities and to ensure that they are treated equally.
