(Phnom Penh): Prime Minister Hun Sen stated during a meeting with Cambodian studying in China on Jan. 20 that Cambodia should work hard to expand markets aside from America and Europe markets to export Cambodia’s goods and agricultural products to other regions such as China, Africa, Middle East, and Korea.
“Today, trade volume between China and Cambodia has increased to $5,600 million, making China the largest investor in the Kingdom, especially in infrastructure, roads, bridges, airports, hydropower and in other sectors,” Prime Minister Hun Sen said.
This is the 6th official visit to China of the Premier. These visits aim to further strengthen friendship of the two countries as well as to promote cooperation in all fields, especially economic, trade, investment, and tourism.
In 2017, Cambodia received around 1.2 million Chinese tourists. By 2018, the number of Chinese tourists grew to 1.9 million.
The Prime Minister on the occasion expressed his delight to see Cambodian students having opportunity to further their education in China. He encouraged them to study both Chinese and English languages.
Cambodian students are delighted to have the opportunity to directly meet with Prime Minister Hun Sen who always takes time to meet with Cambodian citizens who live and study abroad regardless of his busy schedule. (SN- Lok Samret)
