(Phnom Penh): Mother Nature’s Director Alejandro Gonzalez responded to the arrest of his activists that “the arrest and imprisonment of the two activists of Mother Nature is unjust since they were brave to capture pictures at the sea; however, they were accused of trespassing and arrested”
“Hun Vannak and Dim Kundy were accused of inciting a felony and non-consensual image distribution. We are not surprised because before the arrest, we posted a video about the loss of 1.5 million ton of silica sand exported abroad,” he stated.
“Regarding the shutting down of the organization, it is our concern since we have performed our activities for three years on behalf of nature lovers with the participation of many Cambodian people in accordance with the Constitution to protect natural resources and environment. The closure of the organization does not affect us,” he added.
