(Phnom Penh): On Tuesday, Samdech PM Hun Sen allowed Adachi Istu, President of JICA, to call and discuss on works at the Royal Palace before his term in Cambodia ends on March 21, 2017.
Mr. Adachi has served in Cambodia for two terms, the first term from 2001 to 2003 and the second term from 2015 to 2017. He was credited for joining to develop Cambodia and especially in sectors of infrastructure, education, and mine clearance. Mr Adachi remembered Kizona bridge in Kompong Cham province and Neak Loeung bridge bordering between Prey Veng province and Kandal province.
Samdech PM thanked Adachi for his hard work. Meanwhile, Samdech PM said that two bridges that Mr. Adachi mentioned are not only for Cambodia but they connect to the region and help to develop business, economy, and society, and tourism. Japan’s investment for these bridges construction, is very essential for Cambodia’s needs. Until now, Japan still assists with Cambodia’s development.
Samdech PM deeply thanked to the government and Japanese people who always help Cambodia. Samdech also admired JICA for conducting studies and research on many plans to develop Cambodia.
Moreover, Samdech requested JICA to continue assisting Cambodia and especially on financial and technical assistance for mine clearance. Samdech wished Mr. Adachi success for his new mission after he returns back to Japan.
