(Phnom Penh): The National Election Committee issued a press release on the quality of indelible ink after holding a press conference on to present its quality this morning under participation of representatives of the Constitutional Council, line ministries, representatives of political parties, representatives of national and international organizations, representative of Embassy of Japan, JICA and Korean Experts to NEC, and national and international journalists.
The ink, compared to the one used last year in the election of commune/sangkat council, is confirmed to have the same quality and remain visible on voter’s finger.
Five different types of solution were used to remove voting ink. It, however, could not be washed off, wrote in the press release.
It is worth mentioning that Cambodia has bought 51,000 bottles of indelible ink from India to use in the forthcoming election which will take place on 29 July 2018. The ink has already arrived in Cambodia and each polling station nationwide will be provided two bottles.
