Phnom Penh: Former President of the CNRP Sam Rainsy criticized the government leader on his facebook page on March 11, 2017 for leaking the conversation between CNRP and CPP officials.
Sam Rainsy did not directly criticize someone as a cheap political leader but his message seems to focus on Samdech PM Hun Sen for leaking the conversations between Samdech PM and the new president of the CNRP Kem Sokha and between Samdech PM and Mao Monyvann, CNRP’s lawmaker.
“There is a cheap political leader who, instead of dealing with national issues as he should, spends his time listening to other people’s private phone conversations,” Sam Rainsy said on his Facebook page which seems to focus on Samdech PM Hun Sen.
“Using a calumny against me as a pretext to attack the CNRP,” Sam Rainsy said.
Phay Siphan, spokesman of the Council of Ministers, said over Sam Rainsy’s speech that Sam Rainsy spoke to gain attention from people because he has lost his political popularity, his political activities and his rights to compete in politics.
“Second, he wants to turn people’s attention away since they know about the true story of his political group which impacts morality because people in that political group have wives but they also have other mistresses. This abuses the confidence of their families and people, ” Phay Siphan said.
The government has worked hard to develop all sectors in the country and helped to rescue people from poverty, to increase GDP and the salary of workers at garment factories as well as civil servants, Phay Siphan continued.
“So he needs to blame that the government is useless but it is not true because he wants people to see that the government has no solutions and he wants to degrade the government,” Phay Siphan said.
“This is the habit of prisoners and people who have no responsibility, spirit and reputation, so I am not interested in whatever he says,” he added.
Sok Eysan, spokesman of the CPP, could not be reached for comment.
