(Phnom Penh): Prime Minister Hun Sen posted on his Facebook page that the celebration of Khmer New Year had come to an end; all Cambodian citizens had reunited with their families to celebrate the occasion.
“Peace is a very valuable and significant factor that gives us opportunities to enjoy our times peacefully. Angkor Sankranta 2018 was entertaining for the Cambodians and the event attracted a large number of national and international visitors,” he wrote.
“It was also an event for the Cambodian younger generation to learn and preserve their ancestral heritages, arts, culture, and traditions.”
The Premier thanked the authorities and armed forces nationwide for protecting public security and public order allowing the people and tourists to travel without fears.
He also expressed his thanks to the UYFC and other organizers of Angkor Sankranta 2018 for making the event a major success.
The Prime Minister, through his post, reminded all citizens that they still can use public bus services routing from provinces to the capital for free until 18 April 2018 and he thanked all bus drivers for ensuring safety of all passengers.
“I wish all the Cambodian people inside and outside the country as well as troops station on the border and Cambodian peacekeeping forces under missions to have a happy and prosperous year,” he added.
