(Phnom Penh): Six Cambodian migrant workers were rescued and sent back to their home country by the Cambodian embassies in Malaysia and China, according to an announcement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation today.
The Cambodian embassy in Malaysia cooperated with local authorities to rescue and arrange repatriation of five Cambodian nationals (two males and three females) who lacked valid work permits.
The Cambodian embassy in China cooperated with local authorities to rescue a 17-year-old Cambodian national from Kampong Cham province who was tricked into a marriage.
The six Cambodian nationals safely returned back to their homeland, the announcement wrote.
