(Phnom Penh): In the morning of 12 October 2017, Senate President Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdey Say Chhum welcomed and expressed his congratulation toward the 33 selected delegates of the 44th Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Program (SSEAYP) while admiring the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport and the Association of Southeast Asian for organizing this program and allowing Cambodian youths to engage in social activities with youths from Japan and other ASEAN countries.
“All nephews and nieces have to make an effective use of this valuable opportunity for the interest of oneselves, families, the community and the nation,” Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdey Say Chhum spoke to the SSEAYP delegates.
“Our country is moving forward firmly with peace, democracy, cooperation, and development. The Royal Government has made great efforts to preserve national independence, national sovereignty, and territorial integrity, as defined by the Constitution”
“Cambodia has officially revised the status of its economy from low-income to lower-middle income. The government has a clear vision for the future which is to make Cambodia a middle-income country by 2030 and a high-income country by 2050,” the Senate President added.
Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdey Say Chhum, on that occasion, expressed his confidence that the SSEAYP delegates representing Cambodia are good human resources with talent; and through this program, all the delegates will serve as ambassadors to transfer messages to the world about peace, political stability, social development, economy, tourism, and culture of Cambodia.
