(Phnom Penh): This morning, Cambodia University of Specialties (CUS) held a graduation ceremony under the highest presidency of Samdech Techo Hun Sen with the participation of 5,808 students who successfully completed bachelor’s, associate, master’s and PhD degrees at Koh Pich Exhibition Center.
At the ceremony, Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed his thanks to all civil servants who commented on Samdech Techo Hun Sen’s page asking if they would receive maternity benefit. In response to the National Social Protection Strategy (NSPS) for the vulnerable and pregnant women who work at garment factories to receive 400,000riel after giving birth to a child, 800,000riel after giving birth to twins and 1,200,000riel after giving birth to triplets, hence, from January 2018 onward, the Royal Government of Cambodia will provide maternity benefit to female civil servants and armed forces. 800,000riel will be contributed to the mother of a child, 1,600,000riel to the mother of twins and 2,400,000riel to the mother of triplets, and the same maternity benefit will be provided to female teachers, nurses, and doctors.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen stated that the relevant parties are working to this policy to put it into effect soon.
